Huge congratulations to Bishop Burton College on winning this year’s RHS Chelsea Future Florist award. With an unusual theme this year, college teams were tasked with decorating tuk tuks which lined the edge of the floristry area in Chelsea’s Great Pavilion. It’s a huge honour to design an exhibit at Chelsea so for anyone training at college it’s an amazing opportunity to show off new skills.
Along with the top spot Bishop Burton also scooped a Silver-Gilt medal, whilst Reaseheath College won Silver, Merrist Wood won bronze, and the dedicated bunch from Matthew Landers Academy flew in all the way from Australia to experience the show and decorate their tuk tuk, and also scooped Bronze. Pictured above are the Bishop Burton team; Sarah Wilkinson, Claire Lewis, Sammie-Leigh Todd and Olivia Whitley as they recieve their prize from RHS President Nicholas Bacon next to their winning tuk tuk, and below is Matthew Landers with his team’s creation. Stay tuned as we’ll share all the pictures in our full Chelsea coverage.
