Interflora’s exhibit this year takes on a particularly meaningful theme; Stories of Emotion. It’s a concept which we reckon is in many ways the driving force behind our industry, and the team have once again scooped a coveted Gold medal for the creation. Here’s what they have to say about it.
“Entitled ‘Stories of Emotion’, our award-winning exhibit takes the form of an art gallery and features six floral masterpieces, each one inspired by a different emotion with true customer stories that inspired each design. Using structure and form, colour and floriography (the language of flowers), our expert florists have translated each emotion into beautiful works of art.”
“Happy 60th Anniversary to my darling wife Kathleen. I am so blessed to have found you. We have shared such wonderful times together. I will love you for eternity. You are my first, my last, my everything.”
On their 60th wedding anniversary, Joseph sent flowers to his beloved wife Kathleen. The couple were childhood sweethearts and together for over 65 years. As the couple sadly passed away at the end of last year, their daughter Joanne tells their story.
Talking about her parents love for each other, Joanne said, “It was a real love match. Mum and Dad were the perfect couple. She was in a nursing home at the time of their anniversary, fighting vascular dementia, which finally took her from us in December. My heartbroken Dad followed her just three weeks later on the day before what would have been her 82nd birthday– they just couldn’t bear to be apart.”
No flower says romance quite like roses, so it is no wonder we have chosen to use them in abundance to portray Joseph and Kathleen’s love story. Our expert florists have selected a voluptuous blend of no less than five different roses to use within the design, including an exquisite variety called ‘All For Love’.
We’ve also chosen to include stunning Sarah Berdhard peonies, not only for their sweet-scent but because they symbolise ‘a happy marriage’ — a perfect tribute to this couple’s wonderful 60 years together as husband and wife.
The sea of flowers are arranged within a gilded frame and graduate from the deep burgundy of black Bacarra roses to the palest pink Sweet Avalanche roses, with hints of white and ivory. This piece also features a freestanding photo frame so visitors to the show can capture their own love story.
