I knew that by the time the RHS Chelsea Flower Show came to an end I wanted to have Good Florist Guide back up and running. After all, what better time than the week when the world is looking at top class floristry.
However whilst my brilliant team have broken the back of the project only YOU can make it work as well as it could.
Because to make it work properly it needs industry support before we can take it out to the consumer market. Not just with a unique and incredibly strong message that, like the Good Hotel and Pub Guides, we monitor who is in it but also the fact that it is run by a team that put independent florists first and know the industry inside out and back to front, heck upside down if needs be!!
You see GFG isn't just about me and what I think. One of the biggest changes this time round is the fact that I am lucky enough to have a team of florist advisors. Florists who believe in it as much as I do (and no, I'm not paying them to say nice things!) and who, like all the other florists who have already said they are on board, want to see it work as much as I do.
Becoming part of Good Florist Guide isn't difficult (well not if you're good!), it doesn't cost a fortune (even if you don't take advantage of the introductory offer!) and, because everyone can be part of it, it's a totally industry wide project.
I know it has legs. I also know that my belief in it and the florists it aims to promote and help is a strong now as it was when I first launched it in 2008. But without industry support it is not going to happen. I've done my bit and the beta site is now live - well Chelsea week seemed the right time to do it - but if you think you can help click here, see what you think and maybe use the long weekend to fill out the application form. Because together we CAN make a difference.
Update 27.5.2016: If you've already been accepted into the Good Florist Guide and had a listing on its original website you do not need to re-apply. We will be in touch over the next few days!
