Our brand new, extra special Jubilee Edition of The Florist & Wholesale Buyer Magazine is out now! Featuring 132 pages jam packed with history, business, information and inspiration, the one-off issue themed on our industry through the ages is now winging its way to thousands of florists across the UK and Ireland.
Around 3,250 copies have been posted to lucky business owners who are on the list either because they’ve been chosen by one of our advertisers, they’re a member of the Good Florist Guide, or they’ve been selected at random from our fully cleaned and vetted database of professional florist businesses.
We’re sorry to anyone who’s not been able to get a free copy as we simply weren’t able to send it to everyone, but if you’re not one of the lucky ones don’t worry because you can buy a copy online now and bag one of the remaining few hundred.
We’ve unearthed our archives, spoken to veteran organisations, delved into the history of flower imports, analysed gritty topics that matter and dug through the pages of magazines dating back to the forties to discover reams of fascinating floral insights.
Brimming with interviews with top players from across the industry, the Jubilee Edition features the likes of Paula Pryke OBE, celebrity florist Simon Lycett, Neill Strain of Belgravia boutique Neill Strain’s Floral Couture – now with a concession at Harrods, multi-award winning competition star and tutor Neil Whittaker, Instagram-famed Anna Potter of Swallows and Damsons and Florence Kennedy of blooms by bicycle business Petalon.
You’ll find ideas, advice and musings from fellow florists, from commercial design to innovative business to shout-outs on what got your goat. It’s also packed with tons of tips and advice for improving business, including an in-depth feature on finance for swatting up on costings, mark-up, profit and loss, and many more dirty words like those! We also take a close look at the dangers of digital disruptors and share tons of advice for innovating your business to fit into today’s 21st century mould.
Commenting on the Jubilee edition Caroline Marshall-Foster, owner of The Florist & Wholesale Buyer (The Florist) said; “It has been a delight to put this issue together. Not just because I love producing magazines but because it has given a unique reminder of all the flower industry has done as well as the opportunities still out there for those willing to ‘go for it’. Curating this issue has been wonderful and not only have I personally had great fun but am incredibly proud of my team – Hannah Dunne, Katie Adams and Mick Jones – who were amazing in pulling it all together. A huge thank you must also go to the advertisers and contributors who so willingly gave of their time and support and I really hope the readers enjoy it as much as we enjoyed putting it together.”
