Unsung heroes of Chelsea Flower Show

Whilst you might see Chelsea's show gardens on the TV and you'll find your fix of floristry competitions right here, there's still so much more to the show than meets the eye. Thousands of staff work hard behind the scenes to make sure it all goes off without a hitch. Nearly every space of every size must be d├ęcored with flowers of some shape or form; be it in a simple vase for small trade stands or a sizeable flower wall for a larger company. We want to celebrate every florist who plays a part in this special event so whenever we spot a beautiful bunch, big or small, we'll always find out who's behind it and we'll be sharing much more with you over the coming weeks. During our search for unsung heroes we were thrilled to stumble upon some particularly beautiful vases when sneaking around private parts of the showground.

A clutch of companies invest seriously large amounts of money through sponsoring the show and in doing so deserve their own private spots for wining and dining their guests. Such spots, of course, need suitably special flowers. We had the pleasure of meeting the lady behind this year's corporate treasures; London florist Jane Wadham, who was tasked with creating flowers for a number of unique corporate 'chalets' for each of the show's key sponsors. Stay tuned as we'll be running an interview with Jane along with photos of each design, which had to be created to a range of strict briefs. We all know corporate accounts play an important role in most florist businesses so it's an interesting story and one featuring some beautiful blooms to boot.
