Covent Garden marks the Coronation!
New Covent Garden Market are running a competition to mark the Coronation of King Charles III in May and they’d like as many florists as possible to be involved!
Which is why they’re asking each of their wholesale tenants in the Flower Market (see list below) to work with one or more of their customers to create a floral Crown for King Charles III.
As such the tributes to our newly crowned King and his Queen must be made with cut or dried flowers, plants, foliage, or sundries bought or provided from the Market.
The crown does not need to be large - the natural size of a head would be most suitable (!), but we’ll leave that up to the creative streaks inside you all!
Most importantly, in view of their Majesties commitment to all things sustainable, they are looking for entries that highlight sustainable principles and practices.
All entries must be displayed in the Market by 7.30am on Thursday, May 4th, when the competition will be judged by Caroline Marshall Foster, Editor of The Florist Trade Magazine.
The winning entry will receive a £500 voucher to spend in the Flower Market with a £250 voucher for the second placed entry and £150 for the third.
