ABOUT THE FLORIST MAGAZINE

The Florist Magazine has been the eyes, ears and voice for the flower industry since 1949.

Produced by a team with years of industry experience, The Florist Magazine aims to inspire and inform with a mix of in-depth business features, fabulous design ideas and all the latest industry news. ​

The UK's leading trade magazine for florists started life in 1949 as Florist & Landscape Gardener back when Constance Spry was doing flowers for the Queen and floral foam was simply a figment of Mr Smithers' imagination.

Later, and through our monthly print editions, you may have known us as The Florist Trade Magazine, then Florist & Wholesale Buyer, or even just Florist Magazine (we answer to all!) until we slicked back to The Florist (but still very much here for our growers and wholesalers!), producing three new-look issues in 2013 and a special Jubilee edition in 2017. ​

Since then we've been focussing on our digital platform, theflorist.co.uk, where you'll find the same great Florist Magazine content alongside up-to-date industry news, making it a one-stop reference tool for anyone serious about the business of floristry.

In 2024, and 75 years since our first edition appeared, we are still considered the leading magazine for the flower industry in the UK, known around the globe as an authoritative voice and frequently called upon for expert advice and opinion.

OUR EDITOR

Considered one of the most popular and well connected communicators in the industry, Caroline Marshall-Foster has followed – albeit in a slightly wiggly way – her landscape gardener grandfather and her Constance Spry trained mother to become one of the best known and respected faces of the global floricultural industry.

She won’t pull her punches if something is wrong, but she totally understands the challenges facing the whole sector.  She's fascinated and enthused by new talent and developments - she describes herself as a Curator of the extraordinary … collector of the exceptional - has no equal when it comes to networking, connecting and getting people enthused and loves the industry as much now as she did when she started.

Oh yes and she instinctively cuts her broccoli stems at an angle – it’s the florist in her!!
