Two new faces for Good Florist Guide Council
As part of its ongoing development Good Florist Guide has appointed two new members to the GFG Council.
Emily Elvin, who owns Persephone Violet in Malmesbury and Jake Nicholson-Lailey who owns Abundiflora in Glastonbury joined the Council at the beginning of September and will be working alongside Karen Massey, Karen Lindsay, Morgan Douglas Nuth, Nicola Evans and Stephanie Harris.
However, while they may be new, they are already playing an active role with Jake taking on the role of Zoom Room host and Emily creating a series of content and initiatives for the coming months.
Commenting on the appointments, Caroline Marshall-Foster, Founder of Good Florist Guide and which this year celebrates its 25th Anniversary, said “I am delighted that both Jake and Emily have accepted my invitation to join the Council. They are brilliant Ambassadors for the industry and represent the new generation of business owners who will take our industry forward. I have watched both since they started and admire how they have developed and grown, and I know they will bring valuable new insights into how Good Florist Guide can develop and grow.”
Explaining why they are part of Good Florist Guide and keen to get more involved Emily told us: “It is an absolute pleasure and privilege to have been asked to join the Good Florist Guide council, serving alongside some really wonderful ambassadors of our fantastic industry. Having been a florist for nearly two decades navigating a number of flower communities in that time, the Good Florist Guide has, and continues to be, a very welcoming, supportive and uplifting one.
I am thrilled to be helping contribute and execute some new ideas to benefit the group as a whole and on an individual business level also. This is a great opportunity for me to build more meaningful connections across our widespread flower family and share far and wide the benefits of being a GFG member. I am very grateful to Caroline for asking me to join the Council alongside Jake whom I have admired from a far for a long time.”
Jake was equally enthusiastic. “I am both thrilled and honoured to be serving on the Good Florist Guide Council, something that has played an important part in my business for fifteen years. Through that time GFG has been instrumental in supporting and promoting my company, and has been, not only my, but all its members cheerleader. Now I get to help in new ways, encouraging new things to grow, and further galvanise our fabulous floral community.”
