Eleven new varieties from Alexandra Farms
Alexandra Farms, the world's largest grower of fresh-cut garden roses, has just announced their latest collection of roses and dahlias … all carefully selected to ensure their unique offering and with special colours, shapes and fragrances, and at least a 10-day vase life after being nurtured, harvested, carefully packaged and shipped under the expert care of their team in Bogotá, Colombia.
What’s new in Deluxe Garden Roses
Wavy petals of cream and white playfully swirl together, forming a large cup bloom in Aurora Gardens! Her lavender scent is moderately fragrant, and her delicate shape is classically bold, making her a stunning pick for both starring and supporting roles. Bred in the Netherlands, Aurora Gardens! makes her debut this spring.
Voluptuous and seductive, Garden Romance's cabbage bloom is composed of bountiful, delicately folded scarlet petals. With the power of her mesmerizing colour and style, this Germany-bred variety emotes the feelings of a fairytale garden rendezvous.
Nearly tropical in her approach and playful in her design, Pink Butterfly Spr is the essential pillar for any adventurous installation. Her light pink petals and buttery centre make this bloom a highly compatible companion to any number of colour combinations imaginable. This Germany-bred spray garden rose is a game-changer.
A balayage of peach carefully bleeds from the centre to the outer layer of petals in Tie- Dye's bloom, moving softly from deep tangerine to light orange creamsicle. This shallow-cupped bloom emits a mild, fruity scent to complete the citrusy bloom's overall essence. This Netherlands-bred variety is a highly anticipated introduction to the collection.
Cheerful peach centre petals become lightly subdued as they approach the outer edge of the cupped bloom. With outer petals lightly etched in minty green, Tip-Top! is a garden rose so unique in her voluminous design that she becomes an anchor for endless whimsical creations. This stunner is a Netherlands-bred variety.
Delicately kissed by drops of the lightest peach juices, Vicky Gardens! is softly sweet and lightly citrusy in both manner and scent. This sophisticated showstopper uses her copious petal count and large bloom to stand on her own without support from other acts. Bred in the Netherlands, this peach wonder is ready for her close-up.
What’s new in Wabara Garden Roses
The comfort of a warm summer sunset has been captured in the captivating tones of peach and sand among creamy, cloud-coloured petals in Issei's flatly shaped rosette bloom. This cheeky, large beauty is a Japan-bred variety.
Bubbling like a glass of soft pink champagne, Tsumugi Ulala - pronounced "Ooo la la!" - uses her overabundance of sparkling peach petals to create an exceptional double cup bloom. Though not fragrant, the striking features in her wavy petals create something of a masterpiece in each stem. A Japan-bred introduction and sister rose to the much-loved Tsumugi, this garden rose is a strong addition to the Wabara collection.
What’s new in Dahlias
Alexandra Farms have also added three new dahlias to their offerings. Diana's Memory, Doris Duke and Wizard of Oz join their collection of varieties developed by two breeders for the cut flower market. Like their world renowned roses, they’ve chosen dahlia varieties with a longer vase life and consistent reliability, and now have 13 varieties in production, all available year-round from our farm.
