Exciting new Partnership for Irish Institute of Flowers

Exciting new Partnership for Irish Institute of Flowers

The Institute of Flowers in Ireland and acclaimed floral designer Joseph Massie have announced a new multi-year educational partnership, designed to provide long-term support, training, and creative inspiration for florists across Ireland.

This exciting collaboration will see Joseph Massie, founder of The UK School of Floristry and LearnJosephMassie.com, work in close partnership with the Institute of Flowers to deliver a wide range of in-person and online education until 2029. Together, they aim to equip floral professionals with the creative and business skills needed to flourish in today’s ever-changing floral industry.

The partnership will begin with an exclusive two-day Wedding and Event Masterclass, hosted in Ireland in October 2026, and will continue with a series of live online workshops developed specifically for members of the Institute of Flowers. Each session will explore key aspects of floral design, artistry, and business strategy, helping florists strengthen their creative practice while building sustainable, successful businesses.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be working with the Institute of Flowers on this collaboration,” said Joseph Massie. “Supporting florists in Ireland has always been close to my heart. I was lucky enough to be involved with the Irish floristry community over a decade ago, and it’s a joy to return in this new capacity. Education is such an important part of what we do and I truly believe every florist deserves the chance to further their skills, expand their creativity, and build the career they dream of. This partnership is all about opening those doors and making that possible.”

Known internationally for his innovative approach to floral design and education, Joseph’s work combines technical excellence with artistry, sustainability, and a commitment to nurturing the next generation of floral talent. Through his teaching he has helped thousands of students across the world refine their skills and gain confidence in their craft.

This new collaboration with the Institute of Flowers builds on that legacy. It reflects a shared belief in the value of education, mentorship, and community for creative professionals. Together, the two organisations will provide a structured and supportive pathway for florists in Ireland, offering opportunities for both creative growth and professional development.

Speaking about the partnership, Fionnuala Mc Auley, Founder of the Institute of Flowers, said: “Working with Joseph is a natural step for the Institute of Flowers. His growth as a designer and educator reflects the same commitment to continuous development that we champion for Irish florists. We are proud to offer sustained, world-class education through this partnership. Irish floristry is incredibly strong, but structured access to leading international expertise is transformative.  This collaboration represents something Ireland has not experienced before — long-term, meaningful investment in the professional future of florists."

Indeed the IoF feels this collaboration reflects the Institute of Flowers’ commitment to providing structured, high-quality education that supports lifelong learning within floristr and that by partnering with leading international educators, the Institute continues to strengthen Ireland’s position within the global floral community while ensuring its members have access to the knowledge, skills, and inspiration needed to thrive.

The partnership is designed not only to deliver training but also to strengthen Ireland’s floristry community as a whole. By combining in-person masterclasses with ongoing online support, florists at all stages of their journey will have the chance to learn, connect, and be inspired throughout the year.
