Poland takes World Cup 2025 title

Poland takes World Cup 2025 title

To say the World Cup Floral Art competition was an amazing three days would be an understatement.  Because this wasn’t just 22 contestants battling it out to win the prestigious title but a stunning showcase of top-quality floristry courtesy of the Floral Fundamentals team who presented demonstrations throughout the day.

Hosted by the UK’s own Morgan Douglas Nuth, the event literally brought the world of flowers together and by the time you added in Masterclasses, displays both big and small and over 1200 industry people gathered from around the globe you had an event that really did shout flower power big time.

Which is why huge congratulations must go to Florint and the Dutch Florist Association, VBW for taking on a massive project and delivering in such an awesome way.  Special tribute must also go to the late, great Martin Groen who was so instrumental in bringing the competition to The Netherlands.  He sadly didn’t get to see his dream but the moving tribute to him – see separate story later this week - was both heartfelt and extremely moving.

And as a finale to the event Hanneke Frankema presented a showcase of design that will surely go down in history. Again, give us time to process the pictures but trust us, it broke boundaries in terms of showmanship as well as touching emotions throughout the 1200 strong audience.

The climax of the last evening was the announcement of the final winners. Having completed five tasks, just 10 went through to the final … their final test to decorate a typical Dutch bike.

Chantal Post (Belgium)

Christopher Ernst (Germany)

Claudia Tararache (Romania)

Eilin Katarina Melkersen (Norway)

Franka Roenhorst (The Netherlands)

Frédéric Dupré (France)

Gábor Nagy (Hungary)

Hiroto Inoue (Japan)

Säde Alanen (Finland)

Tomasz Kuczyński (Poland)

And it was this point the final three were selected and with some of the tightest marks between the top three we have seen in a long time.  Announced in classic reverse order and to huge cheers and chanting, Tomasz Kuczyński of Poland was declared the ultimate champion (as you can see from our hero shot it was emotional!), Gábor Nagy of Hungary runner up and Frédéric Dupré of France a mere point or so behind.

Scores

It will take some time to share everything … we have over 300 design shots alone never mind the back stories and people news … but then precious memories should run and run and World Cup Floral Art 2025 will have plenty of them for many months to come.
