UK florists join in USA Petal it Forward campaign
Thirteen members of Good Florist Guide have linked up with the Society of American Florists to join in with their national Petal it Forward campaign on Wednesday 18th October.
The first of what is hoped will be other collaborations, the Petal it Forward campaign is now in its 9th year and gives florists taking part a fabulous chance to create both a traffic builder and generate strong content for their social media.
Designed around the strong research evidence that flowers are scientifically proven to be good for you and that giving is even more beneficial than receiving, the campaign sees florists create mini bouquets and physically hand out two to each person they find – be it on the street corner, by a train station or at the school gate.
One is for the first person to keep and enjoy ... the other to gift to someone else - be it friend, colleague, or random stranger - so they can experience the buzz receiving flowers can give and the giver gets a feel-good buzz too!
Commenting on the move Caroline Marshall-Foster, Editor of The Florist Magazine and founder of Good Florist Guide said: “I have been a member of the Society of American Florists for years and greatly admire their work. A random chat with their Executive Vice President and CEO Kate Penn in Colombia a couple of weeks ago prompted the idea to collaborate more and this seemed the perfect place to start! I am really chuffed at how quickly so many florists have jumped in and delighted they are already getting traction from the idea. It’s very early days but it would be wonderful to think we could make this an annual cross Atlantic project!”
