New certification for small-scale growers

The Floriculture Sustainability Initiative (FSI) is proud to share that FloriCompact is now officially available - adding a second certification option alongside MPS-Compact for small-scale growers in the Global North.
 
This milestone means growers with a total floricultural turnover of up to €250,000 can now choose between two tailormade certification schemes that are practical, affordable, and fully aligned with FSI requirements.

Jeroen Oudheusden, Executive Officer FSI: “I am delighted that growers can now choose FloriCompact in addition to the previously launched MPS-Compact scheme. This allows growers to select the product and organization that best suits their business operations.
 
Already, hundreds of growers have registered - and the first certificates have been issued! It’s great to see that the ambition behind this initiative is becoming reality: creating a credible and inclusive certification pathway contributing to a more sustainable floriculture sector.”
 
At the same time, the FSI website has been updated - now featuring the new Basket of Standards, including all benchmarked schemes that serve as the reference for Responsible Sourcing and Responsible Production within the sector.
